HISTORY about KIDD’S PLACE SPORTING CLAYS
The idea for a sporting clay range in this area was conceived by Tom Kidd, who loved sporting clays and wanted to create a range where other sporting clay enthusiasts and beginners could come to shoot clays. Tom was a Master Class level shooter in the NSCA and a certified Level III instructor with the NSCA. In 2019, Tom was inducted into the North Carolina Sporting Clays (NSCA) Hall of Fame.
Tom also loved horses, but his passion for sporting clays was so great that in 2010, he converted his horse stables into a clubhouse and work area dedicated to sporting clays…..thus Kidd’s Place was born. Over the course of several years, Tom’s enthusiasm and desire to introduce sporting clays to beginners as well as provide challenging targets for experienced shooters led to the development of a sporting clays course that would accommodate both beginning and experienced shooters.
Although Tom is no longer with us, his passion and enthusiasm for sporting clays continues on, and today Kidd’s Place continues to grow and develop and continues Tom’s legacy of providing targets that accommodate both the beginner and the experienced shooter.
